I read a story quite a while ago where the team is going after a fugitive and Danny gets splashed in the eyes with some kind of chemical, which causes him to go temporarily blind for a while, but Steve helps him out through the whole thing. Unfortunately I can't seem to find it in my bookmarks.
There's also another one where Steve is blinded, but I believe it happened while he was still in the SEALs and he ends up meeting Danny because he's partnered with Chin at HPD, who comes and helps Steve out every once in a while, which leads to Steve and Danny becoming very close.
If anyone knows the whereabouts of either of these stories (or similar ones), I would greatly appreciate it!

Second one found! A Fine Mingling OF Letting Go and Hanging On (and I realized I got the injuries mixed up - inside of being blind here, Steve has a spinal cord injury.)
